Coffee Pad vs Todoist
Todoist is a far more capable task manager. Coffee Pad is the one that cannot read your tasks.

Todoist's own security page says projects, tasks and comments are “stored and encrypted at rest”, over TLS 1.2 and 1.3 in transit. It does not describe end-to-end encryption or customer-held keys — so Doist can decrypt task content, and can be required to produce it under legal process.

When Todoist is the right answer
- You share work with other people — Coffee Pad has no concept of a second person.
- You rely on recurring tasks, reminders or natural-language dates.
- You want native apps, offline mobile, and integrations with everything else you use.
- You want a product with a company behind it, support, and a roadmap.
When Coffee Pad is
- The contents of your to-do list are nobody's business, including the people running the server.
- You want a list, not a project management tool.
- You would rather have six features that work than sixty you never open.
Questions people actually ask
- Is Todoist end-to-end encrypted?
- No. Todoist's security page describes encryption in transit and at rest, which protects your data from outsiders but leaves the keys with Doist. End-to-end encryption means only you hold the key; Todoist does not offer that.
- Can Todoist employees read my tasks?
- Todoist encrypts stored data and restricts internal access, but because it holds the decryption keys, reading task content is technically possible and can be compelled by a valid legal request. With end-to-end encryption there is nothing to hand over but ciphertext.
- Is Coffee Pad a full Todoist replacement?
- No, and it does not try to be. There is no sharing, no assignees, no recurring tasks and no mobile app. If you use those, Todoist is the better tool.
